ASPEDAH

Association Suisse romande de Parents d´Enfants avec Déficit d´Attention (association for parents of children with attention-deficit disorder in French-speaking Switzerland)

1007 Lausanne     www.aspedah.ch

Aims of the patient organisation:
Around 5 to 10 percent of children suffer from this neurobiological functional disorder which is generally referred to:

_ADHD– Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

The parents of affected children have come together in regional associations, which, in their turn, are linked under the ELPOS Switzerland federation. In French-speaking Switzerland, the parents’ association has the name of ASPEDAH.

No other group has the knowledge and experience that parents of children with ADHD are forced to acquire. This makes them experts in the day-to-day issues affecting these children and in the preservation of their rights and interests. Involvement, specific knowledge and parental commitment are what give the ELPOS associations the power to act and guarantee independent and persistent representation of the interests of affected children.

With 30 years of experience and ongoing interactions with a wide variety of experts, the advisory centres of the regional associations provide qualified information and advice. Knowledge on the causes, impact and options for help and treatment of ADHD is communicated by means of comprehensive information brochures, lectures and courses. Thanks to public relations work, schools and society are continually updated on and sensitised to developments in this field.

Vifor Pharma provides one-time support
Organisation of a quiz at the United Paediatrics Congress held in Lugano in 2008. The revenue was used to pay for this issue "Education" of  the ASPEDAH bulletin, which is sent to all active members twice a year. The editing of the bulletin is under the sole control of the association committee and the various contributions are compiled by members on a voluntary basis.
Remarks: ASPEDAH is not an actual patient organisation but a regional parents’ association.
