Demovit C 1000 is used for the treatment and prevention of vitamin C deficiency, as in the case of scurvy and the states which precede it.

Under the following circumstances the vitamin C requirement may be increased and/or vitamin C supplementation may be necessary:during pregnancy and breast-feeding, heavy smoking, during antibiotic treatment, infectious disease or colds, after an operation, while healing (e.g. after tooth extraction), during cleansing of the blood (haemodialysis) and in the event of gastrointestinal conditions that perturb the absorption of food (malabsorption).
